Is the temperature is heating up? Are flowers are beginning to bloom? It must be that time of year for March Madness. But Christmas lights are all around, so just what in the heck is going on? The 2011 Nike Tournament of Champions is what's bringing that basketball tournament flare to December. Through last season, 105 state champions have laced up their sneakers and competed at the top high-school girls' basketball tournament in the country. For more than a decade the TOC has brought a national-championship caliber event to the holiday season. Last year the gift that kept on giving was Mater Dei, which won the event and ended the season ranked No. 1 in the FAB 50. Will the Monarchs repeat in 2011? It would mean completing an entire season atop the POWERADE FAB 50.
