| ACMT Repeats As Provincial Franco Champions! |

Written by Kirk on Tuesday, 12 February 2008 (Hamilton, ON) Académie catholique Mère-Teresa won their second straight French provincial title in basketball this past weekend in Mississauga stretching their undefeated streak against French programs to two years. ACMT's record versus Franco competition in the past 5 years now stands at 29-2 including three gold medals and two bronze placings which is very impressive as ACMT is continuously one of the smallest schools at provincials. "All the time that my players put in and the tough competition we play all year is paying off at the single "A" level," said Jag head coach Martin Vaillancourt. "We are very proud of our little school and the big achievements we are attaining!" After defeating Collège Notre-Dame in the semi-finals, coach Vaillancourt's team mauled Timmin's Thériault in the championship game 90-44 for a second straight year. Kenan Etale, Alain Grubac, Steve Mucowintore, Brenden Springer, Daniel McAlonan, Elvis Momat and Marc Musungayi were exceptional for the Jags while Glody Madymba and Jimmy Bilenga came off the bench and surprised everyone with great play of their own. The junior team took bronze beating Ottawa's Garneau in their last game 68-59. Peter Batarseh, Richard Momat and Sebastian Santana were the tournament standouts for their team which is coaches by Mr. Rob Ducharme and Mr. Eric Duguay.
