Sossa St. Francis 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Congrats to St. Francis for winning the Sossa title beating an extremely good Parkside team with two of the better guards in Ontario.

Apparantly these two players played sparingly in their own city final but played the entire game against St. Francis. With recent wins over Simcoe and Parkside St. Francis seems to have hit its stride at the right time. Is Keegan coming into his own? I saw him at the All Catholic and he played very well against stiff competition.

Keep working Keegan. Look out for these guys for the next couple of years with their nucleus in grades 10 and 11.

Anybody looking to transfer here?

Parkside reportedly not 100%. One player did not play in city final and other only in first half sparingly. I doubt they would recover enough in only a few days to be back in form for sossa. A few weeks rest before ofsaa will help.
Strong guard play by St. Francis made the difference. They hit their shots.
Good showing by St. Francis. I can certainly agree that the future looks very good for this young team.

It will be interesting to see seeding for these two teams. With a win I'm sure Parkside may have been looking at a 1 or 2 seed. Now can they be that high as the second rep from Sossa.

IMO although I don't know everyone involved I could see both teams near the top 5.

Ranking committees take into account many factors. They look at number of tournaments entered, the calibre of competition and the results. They will also look at the health status and consider it for determining true performance.
There are too many teams that are interchangeable in the top 5 to predict at this time.
ACMT not advancing is a shame as they are definitely worthy of a top 5 seeding in AA.

It is certainly not an exact science in rankings. One factor is the performance of Sossa over the past four years that should help both St. francis and Parkside. I believe three silvers and a bronze in four years is an indication of the strength of the region.

The wildcard is the fact that St. Francis is the Sossa Champion but perhaps Parkside is the somewhat stronger team with more signature wins. However it i tough to overlook head to heads especially in playoffs and the fact that St. Francis is very young and improving at the right time.

Again I feel Parkside could win the whole thing and St. Francis is a bit of a wild card with some good late wins and an excellent track record at Ofsaa. I also think both teams have good coaching which is a key factor at ofsaa.

St. Francis lost to Timmins to end their season. There were some defensive lapses that allowed the more experienced Timmins players to capitalize on but the win could have gone either way. The very young St. Francis team can look forward to being a force as they mature.

Good luck to Parkside tonight. They are the best team there based on their results thus far and should have the experience and grit to pull it out tonight. It would be a great send off for their seniors. The two great guards will have great CIS careers ahead of them as well.

Congrats also to St. Francis for a good showing although based on the streaming video it seemed their lack of strength and maturity finally caught up with them. With all players returning they should contend for the next few years if they keep working. Two tens, and all 11's is a good foundation to build on.
