Good points wojo12.

There are a number of highly touted freshman and young players sitting on Carletons bench waiting for their turn so I think they will be just fine next year.

As for Adam, he will have to sit out next year but I imagine he will be much more than just a solid player in the CIS, although he didn't play much this year so thats almost like sitting out two years. However with Dave Smarts track record of developing players I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being a multiple All-Canadian... only time will tell.

I agree - he will be more than a solid player - bad choice of words....

Barry Hayes confirms Jesperson at Carleton

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I've been given confirmation to release Jespersen as a recruit, but he has to redshirt next year as a transfer. Here's a rundown on the other players:

Willy Manigat - needs to complete academic requirements to become eligible, so he isn't a "for sure" yet. If he's successful, I can see a regular rotation role for him. He has three years remaining.

Tyson Hinz - will play right away and if he adds sufficient muscle/strength could leapfrog returning post players. Great potential.

Greg Faulkner - another wing that should receive playing time right away off the bench, depending on no other commitments. He's a big part of the future with Hinz.

Tommy Scrubb - wasn't recruited or guaranteed any playing time, but wanted to come anyways. Projected as a redshirt next year.

Kyle Ring - also projected as a redshirt next year. Not a point guard or strong enough yet.

Scott Ring - with the newcomers projected, he's looking like a borderline 12th/13th man. Since you can only dress 12, he may end up redshirting year 1.

Adam Jespersen - redshirting as a transfer from Hawaii. Will be interesting to see what position he plays with his versatility at 6'8" once eligible.

So the Ravens are really only adding roughly three (depending on Willy/Scott) to their top 12 next year. There is still heavy interest from other top prospects that know the potential limited playing time in 2009-10, but seem confident that Carleton is the place to be."

No harm no foul wojo.

It will be interesting to see what role Jespersen plays at carleton. I would picture something similar to Aaron D...being used almost as a big guard at the power forward spot who can step out and hit the shot and handle the ball.

I really believe Tyson Hinz will be a good player at Carleton, he just has such a strong feel for the game at such a young age. Him and Jespersen could make a nice little combo.

I agree that they will become a good combo together...If Will gets himself eligible, that is a huge pick-up for them - I liked his game at Ottawa U....Jespersen could be used in a similiar mode as Dorknakamp....Jespersen just gives Carleton more options and a year practicing under Smart will get him real familiar with the type of defense they play as well as the systems they run....

Anthony M is a definite yes to Lakehead. Looking at an Ottawa website, I also heard that red shirt Carleton transfer 6'3F Jesse Duodu has committed to Lakehead. Anthony and Greg were teammates with him in high school. As well other notables:

Jacinto M (Glebe High School-Ottawa)- 6'0 G/ - Lakehead
Dylan C- 6'2 (All Saints High School-Ottawa) G - Ryerson

I don't think either Jesse Duodu or Jacinto M have committed to Lakehead and I'm not sure if Lakehead is even recruiting them....

I had heard that John Brutto (or someone he deals with), had been in contact with a couple junior colleges in the United States....From what I gathered, he was all set to go to Guelph....According to the person that told me, the person who contacted him would be a "conflict of interest/a little fishy IMO" for the sole reason that he committed (apparently)to Guelph and this person has an involvment with another OUA team....Anybody have any info on this?....Is he still committed to Guelph?....If he hasn't already fully committed to Guelph, then no harm done on their part....
