Hey Wojo,
It's not that I'm doubting you but when I didn't hear from you I checked online and a Honolulu newspaper dated April 11 announced Jespersen's intent to transfer and quoted him saying he would be looking at schools in the Big Sky conference or close to Toronto.
Given that the transfer was announced April 11 and you posted him committed to Carleton on April 15, that's a pretty quick decision process from a player that was vague with his plans to the media.
I'm also wonderng why Carleton wouldn't announce an acquisition like that, unless it was to keep the info from other potential recruits.
Last point that occurs to me is that Carleton is already bringing in 5 or 6 players this fall to fill 3 spots and only graduate Kevin McCleery next year for sure. Where are all these guys going to play?
I'm not saying you are wrong, but I'll wait to see where he ends up. I sense he's going to shop himself a bit. Remember JS Esposito, he spent his redshirt year at Carleton after leaving Duquesne, but bolted for Guelph when he saw the minutes were not going to be there. Will be interesting.
Carleton rarely announces their recruiting classes and I don't think Dave would shy away from telling people - the source that I have is really reliable and I don't think would say this unless true....Regardless who Carleton is already bringing in, if you have the chance to get a player like Jespersen, you bring him in....Tough go for him in D1 but he will be a solid, impact CIS player from day 1....
Carleton is going to bring in the best possible players that fit their style of play....Unless they are an exception, most freshman at Carleton don't get great minutes....He has a style and they have to learn the system and he has to trust them....They lose Doernakemp, Saunders, and Turnball but they replace them with Chapman, Thomson and Hobin....All came off the bench and were solid contributors...Kenny came off the bench his first couple of years and by his 3rd year, he started....
