That senior post was a good one. So now with only 4 months to next season, what about the junior teams? What teams are the ones to watch for?

No thoughts? Ok, I don't have a lot of information but from what I know: WCI with all those returning grade 9's should be good. Grand had a couple of decent players back, not sure about their new crop. Forest has a good point guard returning and another good one coming up. Jacob were young and big last year so they may have an outside shot of doing something this year. Glenview was very young last year so they should be alright as well. Eastwood has a good coach so they will always be in the running. Rez will definitely be down from last years 48-2 team, but will still be a decent team. I know they ate up the midget league but they weren't really tested. Mary's will be down. Cameron will definitely have a down year. SJAM loses their two big scorers and only returns 1 good player, down year for them. Not sure about the rest of the league.
Well, that about sums it up. Anybody confirm or add to this?

Airborne you are completely wrong about SJAM they do lose their main 2 players however, the league will be overwhelmed with the stock of players that they will be receiving next year. I beleive they will be the top contender for WCSSA and one of the top for CWOSSA.

As has been the trend lately, take a look at teams that are returning a bunch of grade nines that had a "decent" season. WCI immediately comes to mind, while there are a couple teams (GRCI, FHCI, SJAM) that had a couple decent grade nines this year.
For example, look at Resurrection this year (and St. David juniors in 2008). Both these teams were 3rd place D8 teams as grade nines, and then come grade 10 they were unstoppable. Heck, even my junior team back in the day was 4th in WCSSAA (grade 9) before going undefeated the following year....with a couple key grade 10s having moved up.
That said, overall I see it right now as a wide-open run for CWOSSA with no distinctly huge favourites.....WCI and those couple WCSSAA schools have the inside track, while Ross from Guelph should make another CWOSSA appearance be competitive as well ---- 3 or so decent grade 9s back from a team that often went 10 deep.

Down to 6 weeks to boys season begins. Lets try to get the latest on the teams, senior or junior. Does anybody know how WCI, Forest, SJAM, and Grand look this year? They are usually the top programs.

I heard that SJAM is getting WCI transfer Connor Bradley (entering grade 10) --- he was I believe WCI's top scorer last year and hit for 20+ on a few occasions.
If this is indeed the case, and he is eligible, that would be a huge boost for SJAM and make them the early favourite with a couple of their returnees (i.e. PG Theshawn Berry) and a couple decent grade nines coming in as well.

I have heard that one as well. I also heard about another WCI player that is now at SJAM, not sure who that one is though. Not sure how true this is but somebody told me that WCI's juniors were not very happy with last year's season. As a result, Malcolm and Ryan may not play as well. I also heard that SJAM has a bunch of rep. players at the grade 9 level. Again, second hand info. If this is the case I would say that WCI is in another rebuilding year and SJAM could be a tough team to beat this year.

That's too bad if that is the case as they definitely had a great crop of grade 9s. Time and time again, the "very good" grade 10 teams will beat the "excellent" grade 9 teams -- there is an evident gap in talent between 9s and 10s, and a lot of development takes place between grade 9 and 10. That's my personal opinion, anyways.
Most recent example is the RCSS CWOSSA junior champions from last year. Same group of players --- grade 9 did not advance to CWOSSA, lost in D8 semifinals. That said, you'll always see those 'flashes' from those "grade 9 teams", be it an occasional upset, a tournament win, or something along those lines.
Anyways, it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I think that Forest will be the team to beat this year with a good gr.9 in Juwan Miller and Returnee in Javon Masters and their speed will be to much for teams to handle.

How come nobody is talking about CHCI? I believe that they are going to have a good season and a fairly decent shot at the championship...at least for WCSSA. With grade 9 Jason Thompson and gaurds Nemanja Simic and Vedran Dmitrovic they should have a good season.
